 I recently had the pleasure of meeting TV celebrity Dr. Hilary Jones and presenting him with some flowers at a recent event in Dorset.  Like most celebrities, he enjoys frequent media coverage.

You too can ensure regular media coverage by compiling a simple PR plan for your business.  As promised, here are some basic tips to help you stay in the news…

ü  If you don’t have time to contact the media – use a PR person or company. Don’t miss publicity opportunities because you are busy!  

ü  If the press contact you and leave you a message – respond quickly! They will probably need information before their deadline.  

ü  Aim to issue a press release at least once a month if you are an SME or more frequently if you’re a larger company.

      ü  Try to keep press releases to one page – if they contact too much information they will be ignored!
